ThriveCart Review – Is it Really The Best Online Shopping Cart?

Let’s be honest, we all want to make more money.

Online that means we need to do at least one of two things.

  • Sell other people’s products as an affiliate
  • Sell our own courses, softwares, products…etc

To do this, people need to be able to click on a button, make a purchase, and then get access.

And this needs to be safe, secure and automated.

Which is why having what we call a ‘shopping cart platform’ is important.

In this article I will reveal the good, the bad and the ugly about one of the two carts I use, ThriveCart when it comes to selling digital offers.

It’s not the best for selling physical products [e-commerce] though it can be done.

In this review of Thrivecart, I’ll talk you through the features, the pros, the cons along with a video tutorial.

Let’s get cracking.

An Introduction To ThriveCart

Thrivecart is a shopping cart software that allows you to create high-converting checkout pages and collect payments straight from your website.

Thrivecart is an excellent platform for selling both physical and digital items like as ebooks and digital courses.

You may improve your sales by gathering leads and creating checkout page upsells and bump offers.

It also enables subscription plans and categorizes your customers based on their membership selections.

This Thrivecart review looks through the flexible cart software and its features in depth.

We want you to understand why it’s considered one of the best cart alternatives available, so we’ve done all of the legwork for you.

ThriveCart Review

If you haven’t yet integrated with a shopping cart system, Thrivecart could be a good fit.

It does not need any coding skills.

This makes it ideal for first-timers seeking for something simple to use.

Are you’re thinking about switching from your existing cart software to Thrivecart?

Then it’s also an attractive option.

It has A/B split testing, support for many autoresponders, and appealing checkout templates.

The best part is that Thrivecart is accessible for a one-time charge that grants you lifelong access to the product.

Sounds like I am a fan.

While this is true, it was not always the case.

My Early [Not So Good Impressions Of ThriveCart]

I got a lifetime license not long after ThriveCart came out.

But as someone who has been a customer since the beginning, I have only began to use it.

Back then, I bought it as I wanted to sell a membership I was planning: Video Marketing Insider.

After much debating and following some advice from Membership academy (amazing resource), I invested in Membermouse and ThriveCart.

But after setting stuff up I found two issues.

  • ThriveCart and Membermouse were not talking to each other well and test purchases were not working
  • ThriveCart didn’t seem to integrate with PayPal Japan

So, I messaged ThriveCart support and basically got told that it was MemberMouse’s fault not theirs (even though Thrive allegedly wrote the API) and that they did indeed not integrate with PayPal Japan.

I was stuck and support said there was nothing they could do.

Membermouse had and still have the most amazing support.

membermouse logo

But thier hands were tied as they did not write the API.

Therefore, i invested in another cart, PayKickstart to sell my membership.

They integrated with PayPal in Japan and offered to look at the API they had to ensure everything worked well.

And I have run about $450,000 through them so far give or take with my membership.

I still love and use PayKickstart.

But it costs me $99 PM and as I had ThriveCart and kept reading how happy people were with it (they have a lot of fanboys) several months ago I revisited my account.

Thankfully, PayPal and Japan work fine now meaning I was able to test ThriveCart both as an affiliate and vendor.

And my support questions, though not many, have been answered promptly and politely.

Early Results Promoting An affiliate Offer On ThriveCart

The above was from promoting one product to a small audience.

As a seller, I have done much less as most of my sales are still done on PayKickstart but, I have made a few sales on ThriveCart:

How Thrive Works In a Nutshell

In the video below, I walk you through the basics of using and navigating ThriveCart for selling digital products and promoting affiliate offers.

As you can see from the video, I really like ThriveCart but I also mentioned some negatives as well.

Nothing is perfect.

Not even me 🙂

So let’s do a deeper dive into the features and functionalities.

What I Like about ThriveCart

The Checkout Pages Are Brilliant

ThriveCart’s checkout pages are intended to decrease cart abandonment.

They are well tuned for conversion.

Creating a checkout page is a straightforward process.
Drag and drop simple in fact.

The program offers you with many suitable templates for customization.

That’s all that’s needed to create high-converting checkout pages.

You don’t need any coding skills.
Checkout pages

The integrated A/B testing feature handles ThriveCart’s high checkout page conversion rates.

This feature enables you to examine the statistics for each checkout page.

And hence choose the best performing one.

If you have ever bought something from a ThriveCart page, then you will know that the user interface and checkout process is smooth.

Split test versions of any page you create are possible.

ThriveCart isn’t the only program that allows you to customize your checkout pages.

But, it is evident that their current designs are superior.
Bottom line, they convert.

It provides four configurable templates that include parts such as “Contact Information,” where you collect client data, “Payment Information,” and a “What You Get” section that previews the product in the user’s basket.

There is also a review section at the bottom where you may publish feedback from pleased consumers to push the sale even further.

ThriveCart can integrate many conversion techniques onto a single checkout page.

So, it is extremely adaptable.

checkout pages on ThriveCart

They are jam-packed with information that increases a customer’s trust in their purchase.

Scarcity elements such as countdown clocks and limited stock posters can be incorporated to your checkout pages as well.

When the future availability of a product is unclear, customers want to act immediately.

They are also customisable.

This allows you to improve their appearance by adding brand colors, logos, and unique URLs.

ThriveCart Has Extra Setup Options:

You may establish a custom domain name for the URL of your checkout page.

You may accept a variety of payment methods, such as PayPal and credit card payments (via Stripe).

You have the option of customizing the monthly split pay schedules and amounts.

You may provide a sales tax option.

Adding Order Bumps Or A Small Sales Funnel

This is accomplished by proposing a related product or one of comparable value at a cheaper cost.

That is what ThriveCart enables you to do.

To boost the value of each transaction, you may include a one-click bump offer on the final checkout page.
ThriveCart also offers offers one click upsells as well which you may want to use.
ThriveCart Funnels

When customers click on the deal, it adds it to their basket, and they are not taken to the product page.
Instead, the emphasis is still on checking out.

After each transaction, this is an efficient approach to market comparable or related items.

Customers may be enticed to get goods that are complimentary to their original purchase, especially if they can do so with a single click.

Upsells and downsells along with bump offers help you to make the most of your existing client base.

Digital Sales Tax Support

It’s commendable that ThriveCart allows you to include sales tax as well as your price point.
It also calculates the sales and tax amounts for each product.

This saves you a lot of time and money that you would have spent on tax calculation services.
It computes the proper amount of tax on each transaction.
sales tax

It bases its conclusions on the location of your business and other elements that impact tax rates.

It handles everything , so you only need to enter your pricing points to get the correct tax amounts.

Make Money With A Membership Site?

Do you provide a monthly subscription-based product or service?

If so, Thrivecart is worth your attention as it has a ton of membership integrations.

From popular easy to use platforms like Wishlist member, to more complex ones like digital access pass

It is capable of handling one-time payments, split payments, free trials, and recurring billing.
Membership stats

It works in tandem with your email autoresponders to automate re-billing.

It even segments your clients based on their membership levels.

As a result, it keeps your one-time payment clients distinct from your monthly subscribers.

Its Dunning function makes it simple to keep track of your recurring earnings.

The software allows you to rebill daily, weekly, monthly, or annually.
billing

You can automate the entire process using email autoresponders.

When you begin selling a subscription-based product or service, ThriveCart begins an automatic workflow with the autoresponders you choose.

Whatever membership platform you have, ThriveCart will integrate with it.

I have been using Wishlist seamlessly with ThriveCart and my Video Content PLR.

Integration Mastery – The Pretty Much Work With Everything

ThriveCart’s support for numerous integrations is one of the reasons it is highly recommended to all sorts of online entrepreneurs.

This has clearly grown since I first checked them out.

Here’s a small snapshot of ThriveCart’s integrations:

ThriveCart Integrations

Thrivecart is an ideal cart solution for content providers such as bloggers and e-book writers since it interacts with multiple payment processors as well as several fulfillment services:

  • PayPal, Stripe, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Authorize.net are payment gateways.
  • Lulu, Disk.com, Zapier, Vervante, Printful, Shopify, Shippo, ShipStation, Google Sheets, and Kunaki are all fulfillment services.

With each upgrade, ThriveCart adds additional integrations.

It’s a good cart solution, particularly for freelancers who use fulfillment providers and organizations that use numerous email autoresponders.

If you want to sell products and services to a larger online audience, then ThriveCart integrates with the top webinar platforms

Building a list and do email marketing?

ThriveCart integrates with all the autoresponders you could imagine.

Want To Get Affiliates To Sell Your Stuff?

While I do a lot of affiliate marketing myself, I am not a big fan of launches as I then have to communicate with affiliates.

I don’t like most of them lol.

But ThriveCart does make life easy on that score with its built in affiliate system.

Third-party cart systems are commonly used by vendors to manage their affiliate marketers.

The issue is that most affiliate programs limit marketers to a single, worldwide URL that cannot be prefixed with a bespoke tracking ID.

If you want to sell items through affiliates, ThriveCart is a good option because it generates unique tracking IDs for each affiliate.

This allows them to sell your items across various platforms while keeping their individual affiliate IDs.

They may make as many of them as they require.

It also makes it easy to track the traffic brought in by each affiliate as well as traffic by channel.

Why You Should Use ThriveCart

Probably the best reason for using it is the one time price.

ThriveCart Pricing

The most significant advantage it now has over its competitors is in pricing.

ThriveCart stands out as the only choice with lifelong access in an industry dominated by subscription-based carts.

For a limited time, you can get ThriveCart for a one-time price of $495 or $690 for the pro version.

First you can get the one time priced option.

On the check out page, you’ll be presented with an order bump to get PRO of you want it.

ThriveCart Pro

Who Should Not Use ThriveCart?

  • If you run an online store that sells a range of physical goods.
  • Payment services such as PayPal, Stripe, and others are not accessible in your country.

While you can sell physical things on ThriveCart, it works best with a limited amount of products.

Each of these may be configured in ThriveCart with their own checkout URLs, although the program is primarily intended for digital sales.

When your collection develops in size, though, things get much more challenging.

ThriveCart does not compare, and it cannot be used as a replacement unless you use a site like Shopify or Woo Commerce.

Not Keen On ThriveCart? What Other Shopping Carts Are There?

If you are in the internet marketing niche, then you might be tempted to forgo a cart like this and use Warrior Plus, JVZoo or ClickBank.

I have launched on all three over the years.

ClickBank does have the biggest pool of affiliates to draw from, that is true.

But it can get quite technical and drawn out to get your product on the platform.

And you will, more than likely, need to outsource part of it.

Plus they take a good cut.

7.5% + $1 per sale.

source

With online marketplaces like JVzoo or Warrior Plus, they do offer good support and are free to set up

But you will, by association, sully the name of your brand.

Personally, I want to disassociate not associate with these places.

No point creating an amazing offer only to sell it in the dollar store or pound Stretcher.

Other ThriveCart Alternatives?

There are other people out there who advocate shopping cart platforms like SamCart, Shopify for E-commerce or PayKickstart (another favourite of mine).

All have pros and cons.

A simpler option to selling digital products is to add a button to your website and use payment processors directly.

PayPal Logo

What About PayPal And Stripe?

If you just want to stick a buy now button or subscribe button, PayPal or Stripe are super simple.

PayPal is a bit easier and they allow you to have buyers redirect to a page of your choosing

Yes, they do in fact have a shopping cart with their  PayPal Checkout” feature .

It is a popular online payment system that provides shoppers with an easy way to purchase your products.

However, you will need some technical knowledge in order for this checkout option to work well on your site.

Stripe

Having Stripe as an option as well that you may want to consider.

In any case, you can integrate your ThriveCart account with both PayPal and Stripe.

ThriveCart – The Pros And Cons

The Cons

  • Restricted Template Selection: ThriveCart’s checkout template selection is pretty limited, and I believe they should design/offer more.
  • It lacks the comprehensive customization tools offered in some other shopping cart choices.
  • No Cryptocurrency Payments: You must find another means to accept cryptocurrency payments while using ThriveCart.
  • No Emergency Assistance: ThriveCart does not provide live chat or phone support in the event of an emergency.
  • Not Ideal for Selling Tangible Goods: If your company offers a variety of physical goods, this is not the ideal choice for you.
  • False scarcity on the sales page regarding the lifetime deal

As We Give A FAQ, A Few Extras

ThriveCart integrates with Zapier.

If you have access to more than one ThriveCart account, you must pick which one to connect to your Zapier account.

Is there a a Money Back Guarantee?

ThriveCart does not provide a money-back guarantee, but it does offer a 30-day “pays for itself” return guarantee.

This implies that if the program does not pay for itself within 30 days in your firm, they will work with you until it does.

Does ThriveCart have a landing page builder?

ThriveCart does include landing pages and a landing page builder.
But the landing pages are built for shopping carts.

How do the Standard & Pro Plans Differ

A ThriveCart Pro account includes everything in the Standard license, as well as these amazing capabilities.

  • Custom domain name functionality
  • Automatic sales tax calculation
  • Powerful affiliate center
  • Subscription saver functionality (dunning)
  • Advanced user management

Take advantage of the false scarcity lol.

Whether it’s understanding the program and figuring out how to get the most out of it.

Or if you run into technical difficulties, such as setup issues or unplanned downtime.

It’s critical that you receive support when you need it.

Fortunately, ThriveCart’s documentation is chock-full of in-depth support articles, how-to tutorials, and more.
