In this article I will reveal the good, the bad and the ugly about one of the two carts I use, ThriveCart when it comes to selling digital offers.
It’s not the best for selling physical products [e-commerce] though it can be done.

Thrivecart is an excellent platform for selling both physical and digital items like as ebooks and digital courses.

My Early [Not So Good Impressions Of ThriveCart]
After much debating and following some advice from Membership academy (amazing resource), I invested in Membermouse and ThriveCart.
But after setting stuff up I found two issues.
- ThriveCart and Membermouse were not talking to each other well and test purchases were not working
- ThriveCart didn’t seem to integrate with PayPal Japan
So, I messaged ThriveCart support and basically got told that it was MemberMouse’s fault not theirs (even though Thrive allegedly wrote the API) and that they did indeed not integrate with PayPal Japan.
I was stuck and support said there was nothing they could do.
Membermouse had and still have the most amazing support.
But thier hands were tied as they did not write the API.
Therefore, i invested in another cart, PayKickstart to sell my membership.
They integrated with PayPal in Japan and offered to look at the API they had to ensure everything worked well.
And I have run about $450,000 through them so far give or take with my membership.
I still love and use PayKickstart.
But it costs me $99 PM and as I had ThriveCart and kept reading how happy people were with it (they have a lot of fanboys) several months ago I revisited my account.
Thankfully, PayPal and Japan work fine now meaning I was able to test ThriveCart both as an affiliate and vendor.
And my support questions, though not many, have been answered promptly and politely.

While I do a lot of affiliate marketing myself, I am not a big fan of launches as I then have to communicate with affiliates.
I don’t like most of them lol.
But ThriveCart does make life easy on that score with its built in affiliate system.
Third-party cart systems are commonly used by vendors to manage their affiliate marketers.
The issue is that most affiliate programs limit marketers to a single, worldwide URL that cannot be prefixed with a bespoke tracking ID.
If you want to sell items through affiliates, ThriveCart is a good option because it generates unique tracking IDs for each affiliate.
This allows them to sell your items across various platforms while keeping their individual affiliate IDs.

They may make as many of them as they require.
It also makes it easy to track the traffic brought in by each affiliate as well as traffic by channel.
Why You Should Use ThriveCart
Probably the best reason for using it is the one time price.

The most significant advantage it now has over its competitors is in pricing.
ThriveCart stands out as the only choice with lifelong access in an industry dominated by subscription-based carts.

Who Should Not Use ThriveCart?
- If you run an online store that sells a range of physical goods.
- Payment services such as PayPal, Stripe, and others are not accessible in your country.
While you can sell physical things on ThriveCart, it works best with a limited amount of products.
Each of these may be configured in ThriveCart with their own checkout URLs, although the program is primarily intended for digital sales.
When your collection develops in size, though, things get much more challenging.
ThriveCart does not compare, and it cannot be used as a replacement unless you use a site like Shopify or Woo Commerce.
Not Keen On ThriveCart? What Other Shopping Carts Are There?
Plus they take a good cut.
7.5% + $1 per sale.
With online marketplaces like JVzoo or Warrior Plus, they do offer good support and are free to set up
But you will, by association, sully the name of your brand.
Personally, I want to disassociate not associate with these places.
No point creating an amazing offer only to sell it in the dollar store or pound Stretcher.
Other ThriveCart Alternatives?
There are other people out there who advocate shopping cart platforms like SamCart, Shopify for E-commerce or PayKickstart (another favourite of mine).
All have pros and cons.
A simpler option to selling digital products is to add a button to your website and use payment processors directly.

What About PayPal And Stripe?
If you just want to stick a buy now button or subscribe button, PayPal or Stripe are super simple.
PayPal is a bit easier and they allow you to have buyers redirect to a page of your choosing
Yes, they do in fact have a shopping cart with their PayPal Checkout” feature .
It is a popular online payment system that provides shoppers with an easy way to purchase your products.
However, you will need some technical knowledge in order for this checkout option to work well on your site.

Having Stripe as an option as well that you may want to consider.
In any case, you can integrate your ThriveCart account with both PayPal and Stripe.

- No Emergency Assistance: ThriveCart does not provide live chat or phone support in the event of an emergency.
- Not Ideal for Selling Tangible Goods: If your company offers a variety of physical goods, this is not the ideal choice for you.
- False scarcity on the sales page regarding the lifetime deal
